PhoneBrasil, Tellestar Ally to Target VoIP Market

US VoIP specialist firm, PhoneBrasil, has signed a contract with Brazilian telecoms equipment company Tellestar and the deal is expected to be worth US$22mn in annual revenues, PhoneBrasil said in a statement.

PhoneBrasil will provide Tellestar with access to Brazilian customers by using their licenses and billing operations, PhoneBrasil CEO Anderson Dias said.

"We are very excited with the prospects of penetrating the VoIP market in Brazil and establishing PhoneBrasil as a reliable provider of telecommunications services on a wholesale and retail basis," Dias said.

PhoneBrasil has offices in Brazil's southern city of Curitiba and in Miami, and was recently acquired by US holding company UTZ Technologies.

Tellestar is a Brazilian company providing telecoms products, primarily to the retail market. Tellestar provides mainly phone card and VoIP services to consumers in Brazil.
