Deutsche Telekom hires supervisory head

Deutsche Telekom AG said Friday Ulrich Lehner has been named the new Chairman of the supervisory board of Deutsche Telekom.

The decision was taken by the supervisory board at its meeting Friday. He was appointed to the Supervisory Board on Apr. 17, 2008 by order of court for a limited period, and will be proposed for election to the Supervisory Board at the coming shareholders' meeting on May 15, 2008.

Lehner will succeed Klaus Schlede as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Schlede will retire from his position on the Supervisory Board with effect from the end of the shareholders' meeting.
