Pakistan Telecom Sector Gets $1.314 Billion Foreign Invest Julydec

KARACHI (Dow Jones) Foreign investment in Pakistans telecom sector witnessed a 7.2% growth on year in the first six months of the current financial year that began July 1, government data issued Wednesday showed.

During the JulyDecember period, foreigners invested $1.314 billion in the countrys telecom sector compared with $1.225 billion during the same period last year, Islamabadbased Pakistan Telecommunication Authority said in a report.

During the last four years, the telecom sector has attracted over $5 billion as foreign direct investment, the report said.
